It'd be nice to do away with all those "used" cuffs, gags and collars in my inventory
Won't it be nice, indeed?
It's now technically possible to do this, with the recent introduction of a new scripting function llAttachToAvatarTemp().
However, the problem is, attachments attached by this function do not persist through relogs or reconnects, which breaks the continuity.
You can vote for this at http://lu2.me/SCR390. To vote, you need to log in first (this is an official SL voting site, just log in with your SL account), and then click the "Vote" and "Watch" links on the right sidebar. ("Watch" gives the Lindens an idea the number of people "really" interested). Those links only appear if you're logged in.
Remember, every vote counts!
Unfortunately Linden Labs doesn’t seem to like the idea. Sorry.

Thanks Estrella,
Imho I think RLV fears are overblown and there's really no good reason to block it from temp objects.
Regardless, the main obstacle now is that temporary attachments disappear when you relog. And that's not desirable. Sure, we can re-rez, but what if subbie logs off on a no-rez sim?
Not as simple and intuitive as I would like.

Hi!I've was testing scripts to auto attach temp prims which send a strip rlv command to the user and it is currently working. I did my tests on Imprudence (that implements an old RLVa version and last RLV official viewer v2.08.03.04 ....

Hi Lulu, according of some readings, M Kelley ignores any command coming from temp attachments. (according to this blog)http://realrestraint.blogspot.ch/2012/08/about-temporary-attachments-and-rlv.html?zx=7eef62fe582b4927
