You’ve just set up your Signature gear and finally got it to work.

Now, if you don’t save your Signature gear setup, you could lose the setup and you’d have to start over.

When and how do you save?

After a setup, or a transfer your Signature HUD will display a SAVE button:

(If your HUD is v5.x, it will display a red dot. It’s probably time to update your gear to v6.x HUD.)

When you click the SAVE icon, it will start the “save process”, which is one of the two:

• normal situation: it will detach your HUD, and ask you to re-wear it after a while. Make sure you wait a while before you attach – if you’re on a busy sim, wait one minute or longer!

• if you’re locked in RLV: it will ask you to relog, as you’re not allowed to detach your HUD.

Can you ignore the SAVE button?

If SL has been more stable lately, you can wait till you’ve made further changes (set-up or transfer) before saving.

Also, if you TP away successfully or if you mannually detach your HUD you are actually saving the setup or transfer. The SAVE icon will disappear when you arrive, or when you re-wear the HUD. But if you crash during TP, your setup or transfer will most probably be lost, and you need to set up or transfer all over again.

How to make sure the Save was successful?

The script itself cannot tell whether the Save was successful – if it wasn’t successful, everything is rolled back, including the script! So, the only way for you to know that the Save was successful, even if the SAVE button has disappeared, is for you to rez the new gear and see.
