When you press down ctrl and drag the item over to the Setup Ball, it should highlight red.

If the cursor turns to a NO-ENTRY symbol with a LOCK

1. Just wait as the sim is working on it. It should eventually turn to a normal cursor and you can release the item into the Yellow Ball.

The cursor is normal, but the Setup Ball doesn’t highlight red.

1. right-click the Yellow Ball
2. Click Edit on the pie-menu
3. Click Escape on your keyboard.
4. Ctrl-drag the item over again. It should work now.

If the Setup Ball says No Permission or something similar

If the Setup Ball says you don’t have permission to do this, and can’t continue, SL probably borked it. Just get a fresh HUD.
